The express train 712 ran inland traffic between Villach Hbf and Salzburg Hbf The summer timetable included a DB through coach from the “D 238/239 Gondolier” from Trieste, which was transported from Salzburg Hbf with the E 3512 to Munich Hbf. The train also ran one coach each from Villach Hbf and Lienz from Spittal-Millstättersee to Schwarzach-St. Veit, from where they were transported on to Vienna Westbf with the “Ex 143 Pongau”. In 1985, the train locomotive was scheduled to be a Salzburg 1044, but 1042.5 or 1043 were also used unscheduled.
