Description

Roco 7510099 — E-Lok BR 186 Crossrail DC-Snd.

The Class 186 is a highly versatile member of the Bombardier TRAXX F140 MS2 family, engineered as a multi-system electric locomotive to facilitate seamless cross-border freight operations across the European rail network. This model represents the Era VI execution operated by Crossrail AG, a private Swiss railway undertaking renowned for its trans-alpine transit services. Designed to operate under four different overhead line voltages, the prototype is characterized by its sophisticated roof arrangement featuring four pantographs and integrated safety systems for corridors spanning Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and beyond, making it a pivotal asset in modern intermodal logistics.

Roco’s HO scale rendition of the BR 186 features a precision-engineered chassis made of die-cast metal, powered by a 5-pole motor with a flywheel that ensures stable and smooth running characteristics across all speed ranges. This DC model comes factory-equipped with a high-fidelity digital sound decoder, reproducing the authentic traction motor hum and operational signals of the TRAXX platform. Technical highlights include drive on all four axles, two traction tires to enhance haulage capacity, and LED directional lighting (white/red) that adheres to prototypical standards. The model is further refined with etched walkways, separate handrails, and NEM 362 coupler pockets with close-coupling kinematics.
