Trix T22407 — DR Class 132 Diesel
The Class 132, colloquially known as the “Ludmilla,” entered service with the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) in the 1970s to modernize heavy diesel traction across East Germany. Developed from the earlier Class 130 series, the 132 was specifically designed for Epoch IV operations with the inclusion of electric train heating, allowing it to haul both heavy freight and long-distance express passenger services. These Soviet-built machines, produced at the Lugansk locomotive works, became a defining feature of the DR fleet due to their 3,000-horsepower output and 120 km/h top speed on demanding mainline routes.
The Trix T22407 model is constructed with a die-cast metal frame and housing, utilizing a centrally mounted high-performance motor with a flywheel to drive all six axles. Technical features include a digital decoder with extensive sound functions and directional LED triple headlights that switch with the direction of travel. The model accurately reproduces specific Class 132 characteristics, including the characteristic roof fan grilles, era-appropriate Bordeaux Red livery, and separately applied metal grab irons, designed for operation on 2-rail DC H0 scale layouts.
