The ESU 50311 CabControl is a high-performance DCC digital control system centered around the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) and the Mobile Control II wireless handheld controller. The ICU serves as a command station with an integrated 7A booster, featuring full support for RailCom and RailComPlus protocols for automatic locomotive registration. This system manages up to 16,384 locomotive objects and 1,024 magnetic accessories, such as signals and turnouts. Connectivity is provided via a built-in WLAN access point, supporting up to 32 wireless handsets, alongside LAN and USB interfaces for PC integration and firmware updates. The hardware architecture utilizes an ARM processor running a Linux-based operating system, ensuring protocol compatibility with ECoS-based software environments.
Operational features include support for 14, 28, and 128 speed steps and the ability to assign up to 31 functions per locomotive.
