Trix T23650 — Wagen-Set PwPost4ü-28 DRG
The Trix T23650 set recreates the prestigious FD 226 long-distance express train as it appeared in the mid-1930s under the German State Railroad Company (DRG). Operating on the strategic Berlin-Hannover-Hamm-Wuppertal-Cologne route, this consist represents the peak of pre-war German rail travel. The set features authentic Application Group 29 standard design coaches (Einheitswagen) from the 1928 to 1930 production era, specifically two type AB4ü-28 1st/2nd class coaches and a combined PwPost4ü-28 baggage and mail car. Finished in the era-appropriate brownish-green livery, these vehicles were the primary counterparts to the iconic Class 01 express steam locomotives, embodying the transition to heavy, all-steel construction for high-speed transit during Epoch II.
This H0 scale model is executed with full-scale length fidelity and designed for operation on a minimum radius of 360 mm. The technical specification includes highly detailed Görlitz II heavy trucks and multi-colored interior detailing to enhance visual depth. For superior operation, each car comes factory-fitted with warm white LED interior lighting and integrated buffer capacitors to maintain flicker-free illumination across localized power interruptions. The models feature NEM-compliant close coupler mechanisms with specialized heads optimized for lower buffer heights, alongside separately applied metal ladders and grab irons. This set is the direct DC-system equivalent to the Märklin 42490 and serves as the prototypical match for the Trix 25001 Class 01 locomotive.
